yaya... I saw the arapaima in Yong Peng.. very big.. at least 1m or above in length... but funny though , it is kept with other fishes much smaller than it is.. like other cichlids, and pacu... and it doesn't look as aggressive as the s'pore zoo one..

The Arapiama is known to grow up to 8m in the wild, no joke!
Anyway the ones at Yong Peng are owned by the restaurant right? I remember seeing the restaurant staff feeding them big pieces of chicken bone. -
I wonder why those at Yong Peng aren't as aggressive. Maybe they're feed to their fullest already?

mmmm.... most probably.. I think they are feed to their fullest.. I remember last yr when I visited the s'pore zoo arapaima pond, the keeper took a sick with a small fish attached and tried to lure the arapaima to eat it.. at first, I look ard the pond and only saw murky waters.. no sight of fish.. suddenly, a loud splash and the fish is gone..

few yrs ago, in one of the aquarium shop at Bukit batok west, I saw one of the deformed Luohan fish, wonder if its swim bladder got prob, swim upside down. The price for tat so called "Sleeping Buddha " cost $8000 i think... I was like
