Shall I report to the police?

  Shall I report to the police since my ebay account has been hacked into. Luckily i did not lose any money.
  
  This morning, i received an email saying my ebay account password was changed. then i try to log into my ebay, i cannot. then few minutes later i saw an expensive notebook(Alien don't know what...costing~US 3000) listed under my ebay account, but the hacker sell it for US0.99. of course alot of people bid..
  
  Then i report to ebay of course, too many people bid how to email them to stop bidding? but ebay slow to reply. U know something? the ebay is linked to my bank account and paypal account. so i quickly called up bank to cancel my credit card immediately to stop any transactions. the hacker trying to withdraw all MY MONEY asap..wah..
  
  but i already stop the creditcard, now i'm safe.
  
  So shall i report to the police?

  Also, don't do any spyware/adware check in case the police need your comp to investigate who did it.

  The police need to take your comp back for awhile to do investigations, make sure you don't need to use it for that time being.

  few months later, send you letter saying they found no link thus case close.
  
  then next year newspaper you are one of the statistics you reported.

  evidences that I'm being hacked? i think it's their ebay account being hacked into. don't tell me they want to take the whole computer to US for investigations?

  No use... the computer geeks at Cantonment Complex will still be able to dig up all the pornographic files even after they have been deleted and recycle bin emptied.. they can still retrieve it even if you reformat your harddisk.

  Just be more careful from now on.
  
  Install anti-virus, anti spyware, firewall protection.
  
  And dont type out your credit card number, or account name/ password like when you visit other websites for purchases, or worse when u were target of phising.
  
  Any account linked to your credit card, be careful to change password often. And better if you use a debit card instead, and put only a little balance into it. There are some debit cards which are accepted for online transactions.

  After a format of a computer then use a 'random writer' program so your formatted data is totally gone. (This is an answer to previous post about people being able to retrieve formatted data. After you random write onto it, cannot).

  i did all that before my ebay was hacked into, so what's wrong?
