Quiet MRT

Thanks to a grp of dumb ppl i finally realise the use of sign language. The government shld impose a rule that ppl shld communicate in sign language in MRT as a result MRT will be noise pollution free. HAHA then i will be able to sleep in them.

Haha. Very nice. Then Singapore will be a quiet society. Then we should elect dumb PMs to represent us. We'll be a quiet little red dot.
How I wish Singaporeans would be more innovative and try out newer things. Like voting a dumb MPs into our gahmen and elect dumb CEOs. Positive influence will lead us into the new 21st century. Now, that';s really risk-taking! -

okay. they are deaf. is there any suggestion to make MRT quieter? Beside banning ppl frm using it

Yeah, but hearing-impaired means they can still talk. Unless you're referring to them as 'mute'. Then it;s a different thing. They can;t talk, can hear, and have to communicate in sign language.
Being hearing-impaired won;t stop ppl from talking at the top of their voices. -
Small kids not allowed? they seem to run all over the place and play as if the mrt is playground like that.

This is quite true. I have seen those deaf people shouting or screaming in the public. This problem of consideration has always been the silent agony of many public transport users, I suppose. Perhaps innovative posters or ads can be put up to encourage ppl to shut up in trains, or talk softly as they do in the library. The same way as how those Chew-on-it posters encourage ppl to pee accurately into urinals.

Yeah. Proper education for kids. Their bad behaviour can be recorded into their conduct cards. Ez link sound sensor can help in recording demerit points

Maybe they should also set a rule to stop people from blasting the stupid ringtones and mp3s on the train? The mrt people should force everyone to set the phones to silent.

That'll do. But you can;t possibly put in smrt personnels in every train to smack a fine on those who speak too loud.
If he encounters a grp, who's to be fined? Fine all?
Plus it;s possible if a gang of teens would pick a fight against the smrt guy. -
Simply put those punks in the boy's home.
Then we would have less of these punks wandering the streets.

I got scolded for using my hp to sms in the cinema last yr. If ppl can just ask those beside them to stop blasting stupid ringtones, like in the cinema.
Adopt that same attitude on public transport.
If we can;t do that, then we;re nowhere towards a world-class society, at all. -
use a masking tape to shut pple's mouth for those r going into the MRT........

France also has that 'parents to pay' method. But problems would surely arise.
I think it could cause a possible strain within child and parent. -

I think they should put seperate compartments, one for the quiet and the other for the noisy. Kids should be locked up in cages. -
Then we might as well designate a carriage with a playground for kids in trains. LIke those in Macdonalds.
Actually it;s a pretty good idea to seperate grps of ppl. We can have a 'quiet carriage' meant for ppl who need some peace and quiet on trains, ppl who need time to read, chat softly, etc..
The rest of the carriages will be as normal. Except grps of larger than 4 are not allowed to enter the 'quiet carriage' in case noise level gets too high.
The only problem i forsee is that our current mrt of 6 carriages is too little to accomodate the 'quiet carriage' category ppl...
Anyway to improve? -
Ask macdonalds to set up playgrounds and their restaurants in the train lar. Even better. Then the kids would just stay in that particular compartment eating their happy meal and playing the toys.
