they'll tell you they hire mainly singaporeans, but in fact, otherwise.Originally posted by FireIce:tts not the real prob
the prob is.......they hire locals or import?
yeah i suppose 10k would meant jobs like, bellboys, infrastructure networking, marketing, card dealers, waiters, security, cleaning and stuff.Originally posted by Li Ka Shing:That is just a claim made by the government and the developer.
By the way how big will the 2 IRs be? I mean the physical size. Im really curious how they can employ supposedly 10k direct employees. I saw the plot of land not so big. Has anybody thought about that?
If you take a degree, that means at least you want to aim for management level. Isnt that right? You dont need a degree to be the waiter or the card dealer. So this 10k employee number is a very bloated number. What's the number of the management will be? Maybe not too many, isnt it?
But if want to try out.....since you take the degree overseas, why not just work overseas also? More opportunities. After graduation dont come back to Singapore. One way.
Rumour has it that there might even be a third one built exclusively on one of the islands (other than Sentosa).Originally posted by FireIce:singapore where got so much land?

the superiors can be biz ad grads who have experience already in the entertainment sector also whatOriginally posted by charlize:Let's be honest here.
After you graduate with the degree in Casino Management, do you think you will automatically qualify to become middle or senior management right away?
You will have zero working experience after your graduation and when the IR opens, you will be starting (if you manage to get a job in there) as a fresh grad at the lowest junior position available. Only when you have worked 5 to 10 years will you be promoted higher.
So who will be your supervisor, your department head, your CEO / President / CFO?
They will all be foreigners from whichever company wins the casino bid.
Think about it.
Hotel Management Degree also cannot find job?Originally posted by feelingblue:Hotel Management degree also cannot find job, you think Casino Management degree can find job with oni 2 IR?
