any foreigners who has work permit if pregnant will get send back to their home.
any difference...?Originally posted by Ponders:Not supposed to fire.
Employer must "repatriate" her back to home country.
Fire her..... kick her out of house and she still in Singapore.Originally posted by UandMe:any difference...?
I believe religion doesn't takes it's place in this topic.Originally posted by Glen999:i don't have maid .... have to do all chores by myself...
but just food for thought.
my friend is christian and they sent their maid back to Philipines after finding out she got pregnant. As u know, pregnant woman should not take plane. This is almost equivalent to killing the unborned heart.
Well, when female employees got fired because of pregnancy, everyone shouts.
but maid got pregnant, everyone agrees that she should be kicked back to own country.
i was shocked when they happily described this matter to me.
i guess its not the religion, its the double standard by those people.Originally posted by photo_seeker:I believe religion doesn't takes it's place in this topic.
correct me if i'm wrong. I heard them saying that they are against abortion or killing unborned baby. IMO, sending maid back to Philipine is an intention to kill the unborned baby.Originally posted by photo_seeker:I believe religion doesn't takes it's place in this topic.
Foreigners cannot get citizenship by just being born in Singapore though.Originally posted by 798:it is a cruel world...
if not any tam, dean and mary will think of getting pregnant in order to get citizenship of her n the child. ended up both being send back to own country and the child separated his/her father.
this applied to foreigner students too. before u want to start r/s wif them, make sure to check wif immigrant any possible of getting a PR here.
I thought citizenship by naturalisation is possible?Originally posted by Ponders:Foreigners cannot get citizenship by just being born in Singapore though.
hmm.. i did not know the No Pregnancy laws apply to foreign students. that's new. But for maids, the rule is enforced by 6-monthly checkups. Students don't go thru that.
hahahahaha, what a nice way to "fire" foreign domestic workers lol.Originally posted by Ponders:Not supposed to fire.

But ya, not supposed to get pregnant.
Not supposed to die in singapore also, employer also responsible to repatriate body back.
Nope. Singapore law don't provide for that.Originally posted by LazerLordz:I thought citizenship by naturalisation is possible?
and i thought they were uber-suckers for recruits to serve NS.Originally posted by Ponders:Nope. Singapore law don't provide for that.
Singapore law is that if you are born in singapore to non-singaporean parents, the kid will follow the nationality of the parents.
So it sucks if that country's law doesn't provide for ppl born overseas to their own citizens.
