hahaha no..Originally posted by lwflee:Actually, demonstrations are not all by flag burning, slogan chanting hippies you know. I've seen a few demonstrations and there were mostly peaceful and unobstrusive. Basically involved a group of women with prams walking to the city centre la... or ppl holding placards near to Parliament.
Btw, do you live in Iraq?

yups. thats pretty much how usa is. sirens going every day. constant shootings, bad bad bad. y do u think i donwatch the news. home of the free indeed hahahahahahahahahah.Originally posted by Farmer Brown:YOU ARE SO WRONG.
Singapore is such a vibrant place. Full of life at all times of the day. What kind of excitement do you pursue may I ask?
Would you like demonstrations held practically at your doorstep? Do you want armed robberies to take place WEEKLY in your neighbourhood, not country, not city, but NEIGHBOURHOOD?! do you want cop car sirens screaming down the roads all the time? Do you want police helicopters circling your neighbourhood looking for suspects?
Do you want homeless bums hounding you for change? Do you want to have to fear walking home alone once it turns dark even if its 7pm?! DO YOU?!
What about multiple shootings in the past 3 days?? HUH?! DO YOU?!?!
aside from that.. do you want to go hungry in the middle of the night and have nothing but shitty Dennys or yoshinoya to eat at???
And don't get me started on how Orchard and the Marina area is really the best stretch of entertainment in the world. If you miss the movie time for at one point, you don't have to travel too far to get to the next. But where I am, if you miss it, you're f**ked. You have to pay 15 bucks worth of parking for nothing. And to get to the next theatre, its 30 minutes WITHOUT TRAFFIC JAMS. With traffic jams, you might as well go home and sleep.
Singapore may be boring to you, then maybe its time to wonder whether its singapore that's boring or if its you that's boring.
eh wht u doing in california? come back lah come back..singapore will need plenty of ppl like u...Originally posted by Farmer Brown:are you kidding me? do you know on average how much a meal costs over here (california)? lets talk burgers.. on average a meal will set you back USD 6 bucks. That's without supersizing it. Convert that to SGD and compare it. And for a plate of 'chinese' food. (Chow Mein + 2 items) you'd have to pay around USD 7.. compared to zhu chao... you think that's expensive?
in singapore at least you have transport. buses stop at 5pm here. the only way to get around is if you have a car. cab rides the distance from changi airport to orchard road can set you back USD 40 bucks. Convert that and let me know if you think that's cheap.
Lets talk about concerts.. ok fine. There are more concerts to watch here.. but you're going to have fork out at least USD 70 for a lousy ticket... go figure out how much the rest might cost..
and movies.. Student price at off peak hours is USD 7. During peak.. it's USD 9. Popcorn and drinks are USD 10 a set... so how? you still think singapore is expensive?
