  eh...dont confuse her with all the algebra crap.
  
  how to prepare:
  
  just do the exam papers from good schools.
  
  if your stuck at a question, draw a model to help you understand it better.
  
  if your really stuck and you don't know what to do, do trial and error (it's accepted working). you could cheat a little by drawing your model to scale, and then make a good estimate off your model.
  
  personally i found the psle maths paper really easy.

  Goondus! The question that she gave as an example was a trick question!
  
  Alright. To do this type of question you must do the following:
  
  Example:
  
  Mdm Tan bought 5 fish and 2 vege for $54.
  Mdm See bought 2 fish and 1 vege for $22.
  What is the cost of:
  i) 1 Fish
  
  ii) 1 vege
  
  First you label-
  
  5 fish 2 vege-$54
  
  2 fish 1 vege-$22
  
  Then you can try multiplying them or dividing them to get something like this:
  
  5 fish 2 vege-$54
  
  2 fish 1 vege-$22
  
  4 fish 2 vege-$44
  
  Then you take
  
  $54 - $44= $10
  = 1 fish
  
  There you go! You should be able to do the rest.
  
  Tell you what.

  5 fish 2 vege=$54 (sol 1)
  2 fish 1 vege-$22 (sol 2)
  
  (sol2) X 2
  4fish 2 veg - $44 (sol 3)
  
  (sol 1) - (sol 3)
  1fish = $10
  
  sub 1fish = 10 into (sol1)
  5(10) + 2veg = $54
  2veg = 54-50
  = 4
  veg = 4/2
  = $2
  therefore
