Passport photo DIY?

anyone tried?? taking pic wif digicam.. edit.. crop.. blabla.. den go those machine to develop. can be done at $0.50.. can save alot of $.
any advice and guide? coz im not gd wif those editting.. and the sizing.. -
might as well submit brad pitt foto?

they can use digicam to take and instant print -
