1stly, life itself has this sort of diversity for a reason. That is to ensure that life does not end up destroying itself. If it's a genetic defect, then shouldn't it have become fewer and fewer in numbers? The existance of the gay gene in any species is to ensure the species does not over populate itself and end up destroying itself by consuming resources at a faster rate than they can replenish it.
2ndly, there is a very high chance for the gay gene combination to pass on. More than u think. Why? For a long time, social pressure has made many people who have the gay gene combination within them to stay 'straight'. As a result, many gay people who have lived in denial get married and have offspring, and that gene gets passed on more easily than down syndrome guy can pass on his genes. Even within straight people, they can carry part of the gay gene combination, that has a chance of producing gay offspring when it meets with the right set of genes from the opposite sex.
And finally, its wrong to look at gay gene as being a single gene. The gay gene we talk about, is actually a combination of genes. Gays don't have "stronger gay genes than straight" They just have a combination that is gay. -
