Can anyone tell me what are the things to look out for when buying a laptop? And whether this one is worth the money? Thanks!![]()
Why not?Originally posted by ^tamago^:i think it's a good buy based on specs.... but personally i dun like acer...
Wah, where did you get that for? Actually mine is $2520 if I get it in school... And also a 3 year warranty...Originally posted by ne0matrix:I'm using that.
Got it $100 cheaper than what you stated and that includes a 'free' upgrade to 2 gb of RAM.![]()
3rd year user...no probs.Originally posted by ^tamago^:bad experience with acer, like more problems generally. every acer pc i see have some kind of problems like does not boot when i install a new pci card, cannot read cd burner at all no matter wat u do with its drivers etc.
Not bad what the deal. Still got 3 years warranty. I got it for 2598 but it doesn't include additional warranty... but 'free' RAM upgrade is good enough.Originally posted by technoboy:Wah, where did you get that for? Actually mine is $2520 if I get it in school... And also a 3 year warranty...
You mean you add 'new' stuffs into their PC?Originally posted by ^tamago^:bad experience with acer, like more problems generally. every acer pc i see have some kind of problems like does not boot when i install a new pci card, cannot read cd burner at all no matter wat u do with its drivers etc.
seems like they specifically prevent u from adding new components by modding the bios. dunno if it still exists today.Originally posted by ne0matrix:You mean you add 'new' stuffs into their PC?
It's different from DIY PC what. I think their motherboard may be designed for specific hardwares to work only...

1) It means that its not a integrated graphics card.Originally posted by technoboy:Few questions:
1)What is a dedicated graphics card?
2)16ms reponse time. Is that good or bad? What difference does it make?
I think 16ms is good enough for gaming. I play Doom 3, don't have what blurry trails one leh.Originally posted by technoboy:Few questions:
