aiya.. if u avg user u wun see the diff btwn a 4ms lcd monitor to a 24ms lcd monitor.. i haf a 24ms lcd monitor, plays cs smoothly without trailings, so no problem..
btw, 15.4" is quite big and it's veri heavy.. i am a current owner of my 1yr old 8104WLMi.. always kpkbing when going for different class..
my fren even worst.. the dell 9300 which weights 3.5kg ( mine's 3kg ).. can see him carry til jialat.. but bo bian his 17" personally, if u are getting a 15.4", get a better specced laptop.. if not waste the resolution leh..
get the 8204WLMi!
am cursing n swearing when 8204WLMi came out.. tmd better than my lappy and it's black with carbon fibre top cover.. some more same price as my laptop too.. 
overall the laptop u chose is quite ok la.. nt bad..

erh normalli poly's laptop come preinstalled with XP Pro SP2 and Office 2005 and other software like macromedia ( flash/dreamweaver blah blah )..
well for NP it does come wif that.. but even if u buy ur laptop from outside and u bring into NP to use, they will help u to install XP Pro on ur laptop.. my fren's XP Home is upgraded by NP.. can request for all the required software u want too.. but muz uninstall when u leave the poly la.. but who cares..

Dedicated graphics card sort of have its own RAM(memory) and does not leech RAM from your computer's available RAM. Whereas integrated graphics cards leech RAM from your computer's available RAM. In short, dedicated graphics card is better. -
I was at NP yesterday and it clearly showed that Acer and won over the other two brands in terms of sales.Everywhere i turn all i could see was people carrying acer plastic bags. IBM had to even change their brochures after seeing the Acer one.Anyway i don't like the fact that none of the brands empathized on their monthly installment plans.Even though i think all the three brands are offering it.

Anyone buying Aspire 5502ZWXMi here? I am a noob in labtops and I have heard that its battery life is no good, or is every labtop like that? Have to order by tml

small laptops tend to have longer battery life...for pretty much the same reason... -
buy frm school definitely better.. better support, cheaper..
my 8104 can run on batt for 4.5hrs be4 conking out.. with undervolting and disabling bluetooth n firewire..
anyway, acer laptop can be ordered online for NP.. -

After going to NP yesterday,I had a change of mind about the Acer laptops.Because of their excellent technology they did look very attractive at first. But the downside comes when you start thinking about the future.Acer laptops have absolutely no inner protection whatsoever and their insurance plans are lousy.I think with all the traveling the chances of mishaps happening to my laptop is quite high.So i choose dell instead with their three year completecover and completeguard scheme.

Using the exact same model here and I have to say it works really good. Battery life is around 3.5hours if you set resolution to lowest (lowest resolution can still see everything clearly). I like the pre-installed ePower Management. Very useful if you need to disable any of your unused components like Bluetooth, Wireless Lan, Lan, Card Bus or Firewire. It allows you to configure many of your power settings as well and even allows you to create your own power schemes.
The speakers are kinda soft though.
3 USB ports are just enough for me and the DVD drive is slot-loading, meaning no accidental knocking of the drive.
One thing I don't like about the screen is that they used glass. Even though it is clearer, it tends to leave fingerprints. Other than that, its a great tool to have. -
