Like my previous suggestion:-
Dun get scared, get even. Drop marble one time, take ur basketball, volleyball, bowling ball, dunno wat ball u have and hoot ur ceiling.
Drop one time, hoot one time. Drop 4 time, hoot 4 time. If ur neighbour come down and complain, u just say "If U can drop marble on ur floor then I can hoot ceiling with my balls"
Please note: the above is just a joke. I will not be held responsible if u do decide to start hooting ur ceiling.

its actualli peeps playing mahjongg.....den the mahjong sometimes drop on the floor lol...hence the sound...

the marble sound is due to.... something to do with the pipes.
dragging of furniture is one of the top complaints handled by hdb and town councils. -
haha (self reassuring laugh). anyway apparently the tampines town council has a website and a forum for people to complain. an hdb owner complained about this and got a reply that he should settle with the other owner above. the man replied that he was on the top floor. thereafter the hdb failed to reply and never did. the forum is now offline as far as I tried to find. the best you can get out of the tampines website is a feedback form. Ha. ha.
anyway i've gotten used to it mostly. unless i start thinking about it. when i was younger and i asked my mum - she said it was screws dropping, steel and metal moving, contracting and etc.
however, 1) i've been here almost 10 years. if screws drop out every day and start rolling, there wouldn't be anymore screws left since more than 365 screws drop out each year if this theory is true. furthermore i've heard screws rolling on my table when i put it there when opening my PC, it does not sound like tok...... tok..... tok.. tok tok tok tok.. even if i drop it.
2) contracting and expansions are like creaks. again not tok...... tok..... tok.. tok tok tok tok.. et cetera. Anyhow I've been taught to kindly ask them not to play if i'm trying to sleep. somehow sometimes they listen (or mebe coincidence). but yeah they play anytime in the day n night. okay i'm getting freaked out i shall stop here and watch some comedy. -
We shoud FACE the FACTS... i don care wat bacteria... its EITHER some MARBLE ghost or monsters.........
We need some medium or ghost catchers to help destroy these evil forces who like to hide in betweem ceilings..
They cr8ed alot of havocs.. noise pollution, scare ppl... really! We shd join in hand and face these ghosts..
I now very angryyy really... yea if the marble 'tok' 1 time.. i shall use my DUMBBELL(5kg) and knock my ceiling 10 times..

mayb some assholes heard marble sounds from above, den they cannt di siao by hitting marbles on ceiling, so they juz jolly-well di siao some1 from below?
if any1 cannot sleep when there'e marble sound, just open ur windows wide, outside wind and car passing by shld cover alot more.
another theory is that marbles are put in between as gaps in between floor and ceilings, so there's a limit for renovation on how much u can drill ur floor to replace tiles, marble, concrete floorings.
SPI website also have some info', but after reading what sixsentinels say about SPI, starting to think: is SPI created by govt'? -

Actually those marbles sound only can be heard in older houses. Those newly built hdb flats doesnt have such things happening. From rumours, i heard that in those older flats, dead foetus was used to built the flat. Therefore marbles were added with the cement together with the foetus. The marbles were meant for the spirit of the foetus to play.
I dont actually believe this rumours, but just thinking of it when u hear the marble sound freeks you out.

Geee, i thot those marbles were seismic activity indicators. Like cos HDB is all high rise, the marbles would move when a nearby earthquake happens...
