FIRE EXTINGUISHER in MRT!!!

Just the other day I was sitting in one corner of the MRT train.... Then I noticed a change in the fire extinguisher on display for emergency usage... So it has been changed (I think?) to a much larger one.... And somehow I have to agree that it might sounds logical to have a larger one as if a fire is to break out on a MRT.. I bet it won't be an easy one to fight....
YET, on the other hand I was thinking... The fire extinguisher looks like something of at least 10 kg or so.... Holding it up efficiently (bringing it quick to a fire point) during an emergency would certainly be a problem for most smaller built teens, females and older folks... And to fight with it (meaning you'll have to hold the hose with 1 hand (for many people it has to be effectively the master hand) and manipulate the 'monster' using the other hand alone (you'll have to move closer to the fire to fight it or back away when it gets too fierce?) could be really quite a challenge for someone who may even be moderately fit...
Hence, I suggest why not put up more smaller fire extinguishers instead of just one such a large one which might not even be practical for usage during emergency

I think you should write to Today under the [Voices] section... then they will help you to send it to MRT companies... ( which company are you mentioning ?). They will reply if they are able to...

Fire extinguisher with 10kg of foam is good enough.
You can basically drag the 10kg fire extinguisher can with you if theres really a fire, and supposingly a fire really happened, of cause someone with at least some or little experience will get to the fire extinguisher and bring the fire under control.
I suppose at least 40 of a NCC company in secondary schools and some other CCas have trained them at using fire fighting equipment. -
Why not just have a halon dispersing system? Just need halon and alot of oxygen masks for passengers.

Frankly speaking, I'm not quite optimistic about such stories... And even if I force myself to accept that they're true... So what..? I've read MUCH MORE of people being BURNT ALIVE in FIRE and CRUSHED under CAR ACCIDENTS then they performing EXTRAORDINARY POWERS...? -

If u look carefully, the is a safety seal attach on the handle to prevent ppl from misuse. The seal looks tough. Try break it wif ur hands. If got fire, run! -
You'll be surprised how people react during emergencies compared to their 'normal trainings'.... Even if one is CALM and FIT enough, there would be MANY who would not be BE.... 1. Would the lights still be working under that tunnel?
2. How big is the fire?
3. How far is the distance from the fire point to the fire extinguisher?
4. You know how fast fire can spread and how fast you might need to respond?
5. You might be calm, but you'll probably have lots of 'idiot people' running around... (we already VERY WELL-KNOWN how IRRESPONSIBLE many Singaporeans can normally behave... So it's not that hard to imagine how they would behave under such an 'abnormal' circumstance...)
6. The train might be VERY PACKED... Have you been on a VERY PACKED TRAIN before.. Try even dragging that heavy fire extingusher through them....
7. You might very well be occupied by your 'friend' known as the 'smoke'.

Don't worry, the normal large-sized one is ok for gals and women to carry, and use. Just attend any CD course and you'll know.
