Why u ppl ask that guy to take it as bad debt?
The girl has money to return but she don't want to return.
Unless the girl has tried but cannot raise the money!
He's being fleeced and cheated!
If I were him, I'll go hostile on that girl already. No Mr Nice Guy...
Go and demand for payment!

Two things I've learnt about money
1. When you lend money, be prepared that you won't get it back, and
2. If any friend wants to borrow money, esp. big sums, I will only have one condition, that our friendship is gone. If that friend agrees, so be it.
Money ruins friendship. Not all the time, of course. I'm sure many people have lent money to friends and have gotten back the loans. -
Since u are a student there is actually a few ways.
1.) Sms her everyday for the money. Sms if u are lazy but the best way is to talk to her face to face everyday or u can alternate. This call the bugging method.
2.) Helping her to control her spending. This is really hard. Or u can alert her friends to her dept and help her spend not so much.
3.) Appealing to superior authority. If u really want the money back and u feel that her friendship is not really important u can tell her parents. This will alert her parents to her spending habit. -
looking from the situation that your having, i also have the exactly the same problem as what your currently facing...
just that the person whom i lent to always avoided to reply me in sms, i think now he even block me in msn to prevent me from asking him, btw he won lottery has a car, and can't even return a mere $100..what a problem....
maybe we just have to learn from this lesson and move on..
this is one way of testing your frenz to determine if they are real friends or just perhaps friends who are after your money and not seeking friendship..

Friendship worth $100..for students -
My neighbour owe me $385, for twenty years, till today have not paid up, we are still on good terms. I remember, but never mention it.
My NS buddy owes me $200, of course never pay till today, we are still friends.
My ex-colleague owes me $50, he dissappeared. (I didn't do it.)
Decide lah, which is more valuable friendship or dollars.
After so many years, the money is really no big deal. -

but u know...if the person really poor and can't afford to pay me back, i won't so angry. but if the person rather spend lavishly than return u money....i think this is bu ke yuan liang! this kind of fren..dun want also no loss! -

and the crucial thing is not how much the loan is...it is how despicable the other
person is when he/she refuse to pay up even though the have the means...
and to add insult to injury...he/she make it sound like you are some cheap skate that is depressed for 100 dollars...

Thanks everyone for your advices. I've given the girl up till max. the end of May and if she doesn't return, I'll contact her parents.
