Computer Engineering

  I unfortunately got into my 3rd choice of study that is computer engineering in NTU. I dont know if its a good course or any future working prospects. I didnt expect i will get into this course..
  
  Can any existing/graduate students give me thier views on this course?

  my god! its fully programming all the way like C++, java and all that! Dont we get to branch out to multimedia or biz IT?

  cos there is tis data structure n algorithm, quite an advancement to c++.
  
  n pray hard u r not taught by china prof.

  Biz IT is under NBS...Nanyang Business School.
  
  multimedia?maybe the new school of design have?i dunno...
  
  anyway...for multimedia or biz IT...U might as well go poly....
  
  CE is more hardcore programming...C...java...assembly language...maths learn statistics...calculus...for a start.

  finding job NOT easy, alot of my friend CE yr 4 now...none got job offers..the course is tough too. cos com engine too specialised liao, people rather go for EEE ones..cos they have both electronics skills and engineering which is a more potent combi then computer thingies

  my friend graduated from CE and found job quite easily leh...depends on heng suay lar...
  
  anyway my point is...the learning is harder than the finding job part...

  i find those computer course, most likely will learn n forget totally the next sem. esp like micro p, it's really freaking me up!

  I almost fainted when looking at you guys' replies. I was looking through the course structure and considering which one to take up.

  com engineering is hell in ntu... its very useful when u get the cert but the process require alot of work... good luck...

  calculus is okay. mi hate infinite series the most. cos i was not taught in poly.

  Wow u sure make it sound that Comp Engin is so dead!
  
  I really hate programming but ok with math.. I see other thread saying that CE is very specialiZed as compared to EEE.. Most of you are making it sound like CE is a course not to be in..
  
  I know that the truth is always painful, but my other only choice is to stick to civil engr since im educated in this area in poly.. What shud i do?!!
