singnet it seem like singnet has some tools 2 slow down p2p dl speed.
i useing the 10mbps plan i pay them almost $100 per month, yet i get to enjoy the bandwith i paid. i sign up the paln juz 2 dl and nw they stop me compeletly from dlin.
juz yesterday i called 2 ask them if the rumor is ture, and the operator tell me that there was no such thing. so the arugment lasted for alomost 15 min, seeing nothing can b done i hung up.
all i can say is they r indirectly cheating my money
they dare 2 do it but dun dare 2 admit
lucky i found ways 2 bypass the problem still im very uphappy about singnet
the bad things is i hav sign a contect if not i would hav change 2 other isp
i juz wan 2 let ppl be aware that if u r useing p2p program very often think twice before chseing singnet. -
You want a slow moving DLer (singnet) or a not even crawling DLer (starhub) ?

actuallymy bro is useing starhub already, 1 house cannot hav 2 starhub connection or else will b slow so i sign up singnet in the end
yes i really regret useing singnet, im goin 2 change ISP as soon as the contract ends or even earlier. -

Your download speed is restricted, usually in P2P, because of a router that you are using and Windows firewall.
First of all, you need to configure Windows firewall to accept your P2P client, which is usually done by default when u install the client, so Windows Firewall doesn't really matter
Now, you need to do a simple port forwarding for your router. ALL ROUTERS block out P2P by not allowing port forwarding, by configuration of the router, u can then cancel this protection (Completely Legal). Routers only block it as a security precaution.
And so far, Pac and Sing net DOES NOT block P2P in anyway. Starhub do affect P2P speed by shaping ur speeds in ratio to your peers in the gateway. However, this does not really affect much.

i've forward all the port needed for bt and even try DMZ but it does not solve the problem.
singnet is doing something call traffic shaping, this method actually slow down p2p dl speed greatly.
yes p2p is not illegeal, but singnet still block it.
if im not wrong they r stoping all this dl(stealing our bandwith) so they dun hav 2 buy a bigger sever 2 support more user.(no proof btw juz wat i think).
so the end of the stroy is....... if u use p2p singnet is not the best choice. -

Windows Firewall basically don't restrict too much like the commercial firewall available. It don't even show up in the background, of which I really doubt their firewall's usefulness.
If ISP blocks P2P, you all cannot download through them liao. Correct word would be to monitor. -
800KB/s...that's like 6.4Mbps...

I think by far, SingNet's ADSL broadband services is TRULY VERY bad.
Firstly, their Helpdesk number is really hard to get through and have a technical officer to help you. Secondly, some of their ADSL modems even though brand new, are faulty (this is true and from experience). Thirdly, their response in sending someone to check on your line/modem connection is LONG - recently my friend waited one full week!
I mean, wtf, such a big name and service is so LACK LUSTRE?
SingNet, why provide a service when you can't live up to the service standard of today??? -
Me uses MaxOnline 2000 since 2003 when me signed it up at the Techshow. Not bad for stable connection and even good uploading speed.
