May i have the address for Gamehouse so that i can check it out? Sometimes it matters which country you live in, really. New host has features that allow webmasters to allocate more broadwith to certain countriesOriginally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:That's much clearer now.
When you download things from a specially built server, it's a totally different thing. We are talking about downloading from the website itself. For example, we download a game from Gamehouse. Even though Gamehouse's bandwidth is rather good, but our download speeds are slow.
If i am not wrong, from a newspaper article long ago, its been reported that World Intellectual Property Organization or something requested the 3 ISPs in Singapore to help track p2p. Thats during the Kazaa times. Still remember that one being caught using Kazaa will be warned and on a second-time offence, will be fined S$10 000 for every item downloaded.Originally posted by lpx88:I am quite sure singnet is tracking P2P activities...las time i used to hav de 512 plan and i get 30-40kbps which was quite reasonable. Now i switced to 3.5mbps at the beginning of de month and my speed is still more or less de same.moreover, surfin has become very laggy for de past few weeks.Sometimes pages on sgforums and elsewhere even failed to load.I am quite pissed off wid dem now![]()
enable the encrypting option for ur packet in your p2p program option if there is. might help ~Originally posted by rebound:i can ensure u that it has nothing 2 do with the firewall
i've forward all the port needed for bt and even try DMZ but it does not solve the problem.
singnet is doing something call traffic shaping, this method actually slow down p2p dl speed greatly.
yes p2p is not illegeal, but singnet still block it.
if im not wrong they r stoping all this dl(stealing our bandwith) so they dun hav 2 buy a bigger sever 2 support more user.(no proof btw juz wat i think).
so the end of the stroy is....... if u use p2p singnet is not the best choice.
My friend, recently signed up 2 years subscription with SingNet. She was issued a Prolink 9000B ADSL modem with USB & Ethernet connection ports. I set it up for her, and it took one whole friggin' week, and it took 5 calls totalling about 2 hours of waiting, to discover that the brand new ADSL modem was faulty!!!Originally posted by ha8n:to sum up as shutter n others said :: v. sad as ur a consumer cant /dunno if
u can do much ...not like the recent taxi booking case where they r gana fined by the big brother bcos of lapse of service...
heard few cases also the isp their internal service, consumer services ( mobile etc ) not up to standard :: eg. they can hear ur complaint or u can grumble n still grumble to them for 20 -- 1 hour ..still back to square one ...
or they can say get back to u .. ( imagine they seng lang taking part civil pay in office just taking calls.... den u can wait forever for them to call to u...so another way is u urself terminate the contract / u painfully wait for ur contract to end then
u happily jump ship...![]()
Theres a 99.9999% chance what you are downloading is illegal. That is, any software, music, movie, e-book etc which you usually need to pay. Also, it takes a really really boring person to download something thats not illegal on P2POriginally posted by YI:i uses p2p occassionally too.. i wonder if my line is already being targeted. well, not everything is illegal leh..![]()
