When you download things from a specially built server, it's a totally different thing. We are talking about downloading from the website itself. For example, we download a game from Gamehouse. Even though Gamehouse's bandwidth is rather good, but our download speeds are slow. -
If i am not wrong, from a newspaper article long ago, its been reported that World Intellectual Property Organization or something requested the 3 ISPs in Singapore to help track p2p. Thats during the Kazaa times. Anyway, heard P2P in Canada is completely legal. Most countries, for example Singapore, allow P2P only if the downloaded item is not copyright protected (mostly all boring stuff). And WIPO is now adding pressure on governments around the world to ban P2P -
haiz.. singnet... my 512 still like the same as the 256 i use to be surfing on... bad bad bad... ever since i switch to singnet BB , i've call up the customer service for like 5-8 times... my friend just sign up the 1mbps plan and he is freaking piss off with singnet coz it's always giving him unstable speed and connection... sometime down for nth...

i've forward all the port needed for bt and even try DMZ but it does not solve the problem.
singnet is doing something call traffic shaping, this method actually slow down p2p dl speed greatly.
yes p2p is not illegeal, but singnet still block it.
if im not wrong they r stoping all this dl(stealing our bandwith) so they dun hav 2 buy a bigger sever 2 support more user.(no proof btw juz wat i think).
so the end of the stroy is....... if u use p2p singnet is not the best choice. -

heard few cases also the isp their internal service, consumer services ( mobile etc ) not up to standard :: eg. they can hear ur complaint or u can grumble n still grumble to them for 20 -- 1 hour ..still back to square one ...
or they can say get back to u .. ( imagine they seng lang taking part civil pay in office just taking calls.... den u can wait forever for them to call to u...so another way is u urself terminate the contract / u painfully wait for ur contract to end then
u happily jump ship...

in windows xp my bt downwidth is about 5-10kb/s
in linux my downwidth is constantly between 100-200kb/s.

Theres a 99.9999% chance what you are downloading is illegal. That is, any software, music, movie, e-book etc which you usually need to pay.
