IMO, starhub ISPers has a few things to note. in new town areas, cabling are better. in old town areas old cabling contribute to poor connection.Originally posted by Agenda:Singnet is best, Starhub not good .. At night very lag
dunno if move ur server to local will help not...Originally posted by Redblood:this one need verufication from all,
if you play bnet ... singnet + starhub players in same game = heavy lag out

SingNet's ADSL broadband is just OK, if it works.Originally posted by pete_parker:I've been using 56K dial-up for the past so many yrs & it's frustratingly slow... intend to sign up for broadband finally, any recommendations??

yes, lag got chance to recover still, but once dc, have to start over.Originally posted by hisoka:actually for online gaming, frequent disconnections is likely to be worse than lag

Completely agree. Though at peak hours Starhub's Customer Service can place you on hold for around 10 minutes, but the wait is worth it! My friend once did something funny and everything seriously screw up, he called Starhub and they patiently tell him step by step how to do. He's dumb and the fixing took 45min to complete, but the officer still very polite and kind.Originally posted by ShutterBug:SingNet's ADSL broadband is just OK, if it works.
But if you get connection problems after a while or when something goes wrong, GOOD LUCK!
It's very hard to get phone-support from SingNet. And when you do get through, they can't solve your problem over the phone.
Starhub's the most trouble-free, and their tech support is A1!

I'm finally on maxonline 2000....
Well here are my comments: The speed is pretty decent when i surf in the afternoon... basically download speed aroun 10-15 kbps. But it becomes terribly slow at nite ,esp for popular sites... sometimes worse than my previous 56k dial-up
Is maxonline speed dependent on the number of users or some peer/leech ratio?![]()
512k if you sign up online is $29.95Originally posted by Gordonator:the singnet people recently called me up and ask me whether i want to sign up for the $38 512k boardband since my current $47 512k boardband plan is expiring soon.
needlessly to say i signed up, for another 1 year. maybe next year change to higher speed.

So i pay 47 bucks for the first 12 months, and 84 for the remaining?Originally posted by Manager433:Latest SN BB. All 2 yrs contract liao.
If I'm getting a new bb, I'll choose the 1500. S$47 nia. Cheap wor.

As for Singnet, either what they tell you is what you already know and tried, or it is completely useless.
