how i know? cos i been in both. singtel? frens all over are complainin, so its the ISP itself, pacnet - i dunno.
SO for starhub, do checkout your frens housing. if you stay old towns, very likely its due to large packet losses. jus like when pacnet started, new telco exchange areas seems to have better responses. -

if you play bnet ... singnet + starhub players in same game = heavy lag out

But if you get connection problems after a while or when something goes wrong, GOOD LUCK!
It's very hard to get phone-support from SingNet. And when you do get through, they can't solve your problem over the phone.
Starhub's the most trouble-free, and their tech support is A1! -

at first i subscribe for 128k but it upgrade from 128k -> 256k -> 512k
monthly subscription still remain the same
needlessly to say i signed up, for another 1 year. maybe next year change to higher speed. -

I am not reallly sure why for you it lag, maybe computer lousy or USB or Ethernet has problem.
Singnet is definately the lousiest. As it is ADSL, the speed is most definately depend on peak or not peak hours. And Singnet obviously didn't bother to upgrade its system even after more ppl sign up. Also, best is to avoid ADSL. Imagine getting your internet connection from a telephone line and a cable line which can juggle high quality pictures for TV show, which is better -
Completely agree. Though at peak hours Starhub's Customer Service can place you on hold for around 10 minutes, but the wait is worth it! My friend once did something funny and everything seriously screw up, he called Starhub and they patiently tell him step by step how to do. I'm finally on maxonline 2000....
Well here are my comments: The speed is pretty decent when i surf in the afternoon... basically download speed aroun 10-15 kbps. But it becomes terribly slow at nite ,esp for popular sites... sometimes worse than my previous 56k dial-up
Is maxonline speed dependent on the number of users or some peer/leech ratio?
