I think those bodyguards can be put to better use. Just look at them, at least a captain rank, in fact the average bodyguards are all majors!

The last time i saw the president's bodyguard, he was an air force? or was it Navy Major.
Our SAF "Force Multiplier" thing works! So much so that our spare manpower who would normally be in command positions are now bodyguards -

Er.. AFAIK, The bodyguards of all the politicians in singapore are SPF personnel. They are from the Security Command. HQ is at Toa Payoh.

As for personal bodyguard - they are from the police force . So get your fact right first . -

The main reasoning is to allow for a neutral force with the capability to handle any racial problems. If any racial riots again, wouldn't you think that police would bias towards their respective races?
They are used for highly specialised jobs. Guarding normal ministers are SPF. They are usually used only for guarding sensitive installations. Recently, we saw them deployed for IOC. Damn cool looking, although some of them can pass as asians. -
In addition, those SAF uniformed aide-de-camps are only for the President. Other ministers are not allocated any, and have their own private secretaries for their own needs. Security handled by SPF ofc.
If you search web, there are information about these aide-de-camps. Although many of them say it is an honour to serve in such a capacity, I think its damn boring. Aide-de-camps not limited to SAF, I think police or civil defense also have appointments. -

being bodyguard is more interesting...but have to keep the fitness level there. -
My friend's hubby is one of them. I speak to him whenever I want to. Aides-de-Camp are defo not foreigners. So too personal bodyguards. It is ridiculous to hire personal bodyguards from overseas.
