My dog barks whenever it rains

Hi ppl, my dog always barks madly at the sky whenever it rains with thunder.. I am very irritated by it... and i think my neighbours dont like it either... can anyone teach me how to shut him up before i kill it....

i think ur dog has previous unpleasant encounter with thunders n rain. thus it barks whenever it rains.
u should try to calm ur dog down. perhaps a treat will do? try to divert attention to other things like holding him/her whenever it start to rain or just b4 and telling ur dog that "its ok/alright". a lil pet on the chest is ok too.

Some types of dogs are damn bloody hard to teach one. Just sell it away. Your ears & your neighbours will thank you.

then y do u get a dog in the 1st place? its abt commitment n responsibility. then next time baby cries when thunder n raining, sell it away too?

Everytime i attempt to scold him or hit him, he'll give me the sad face.... then when i decided to leave him alone and walk away, he starts barking at the sky again.... he's doing it right now.... think i really need to go buy a chopper liao...

yr dog obviously feels threatened n frightened by the thunder tt he does not understand. comfort him n console him wenever he starts barking. reprimand him if he does. keeping a pet means giving it your full attention to its needs.

He has been barking at the thunder for the past 3 years... surely he has already understood what it is all about... hahaha.... maybe i shld buy him earplugs.... or get him a soundproof kennel.....

i read somewhere on the net that they bark or become timid when there is thunder because since they can hear a wider range of frequency than us, thats why when there is thunder, the sound is ampified.
imagine that thunder ampified 100x.
or did i remember or read wrongly? anyone can confirm it?
anyway it isnt as bad as one who eats his own poos and doesnt repond to his name even though i had been calling him for 2 months right? -

Eat his own poo? oh tht's cool! You only need to feed him once... Thereafter he will survive on his own poo! And the best is you dont even have to walk him since he will 'clear' up his own poo! hahahaha.... it's a maintenance-free dog!

We cannot deny that dogs have a higher capacity for learning when compared to other animals... but the fact is tht they are not as easy to teach when compared to humans... Their learning capacity stops at the human baby level.... u have to teach them like teaching an idiotic baby.... they will never learn to learn fast, unlike humans....

Try distractions. Rattle a can with coins inside. I thought it's a natural reaction? Read somewhere they eat up faeces so that predators cannot smell and track them by their spoor. My dog used to do that too till I put anti poo-eating stuff on it..after a while he'll just stop eating it.
