Working for 1 yr plus liao, with a Dip in Mech Engg from SP, now getting about 1.6k as an AE in R n D.

for newbies who just enter the concrete jungle. for the 1st 2 or 3 years, work to gain experience. if after 3 years, the company has no plans to promote u or increase your pay, start looking for another job with a higher salary. with 2, 3 years of experience, it shouldn't be hard to find a job with a better paycheck.
don't bother to stay on if the management has no plans to promote u, chances are 5, 6 years down the road, u will probably be getting the same pay. and by that time, u will be hitting 30 soon, looking for jobs will be harder. -

DIp with 2 k is high liao, since u work one yr oni. My frens all dip their pay less than 1.5 k, take home after cpf is like 1.2...

i failed, e-commerce,business organisation,business communication and system development.

companies won't increase your pay just like that. if u are a very very valuable asset to the company and u want to jump to competitors, ya maybe they'll increase your pay to make u stay. if not just performance alone won't guarantee an increment. -
