he probably had body dismorphic disorder where the person views himself/herself as ugly. basically, they have a very distorted view of their physical looks.
as for sex ed in singapore, here is a snippet from my blog:

i think he died not because of ths reason alone. HE might hav other problems like study stress which made him suicide.
A counsellor once told me that when people are not satisfied with one thing. They might just hang on if their other area of their lives are still fine. Like money career ect.
When people commit suicide, they have other problems adding on to their main problem and they breakdown. -
