It's fine that your girlfriend or wife doesn't know how to cook, and it's perfectly fine with me that my wife doesn't know how to cook, me know how to cook can liao mah.
It doesn't mean that she's your very precious and she must know, nowadays are different, men also know how to whip up a dish or two.
Maybe that's explains why most cooks and chefs are guys....

i believe that most guys wont reject their gf if she cant cook. in todays context, this is not a criteria when looking for a wife unlike in the past. also, there are other ways to please the guy and the in laws other than by culinary skills
however the things is will the health of couples who cant cook be compromised because most of the food from outside tend to be more unhealthy eg more oily and health food is not affordable to many. this might be a pressing health issue especially if it is the majority who are affected

I don't think the issue here is about if the girl can cook or not, or how often she cooks
I believe that men just want to be served and be waited on They want the woman subservient and doing things for them. Thus the cooking requirement.
Personally, it's ok to pamper him once a while & massage his ego. Keep him happy and he'll keep me happy too.
Most women I know can cook so I think the accusation that Sg girls can't cook is somewhat exaggerated. -
Don't have to cook cos more convenient to eat out.
Also save $$ buying sauces/ oil etc & don't have to wash up.
