Eating in MRT

hi,
just want to share what i saw this afternoon in the MRT.
i took the train from cck to jurong east. all was fine till i saw a couple who were in school uniform. i couldn't recognize what school they were from but from the way the guy looked (dressing and hairstyle), he look rather old. so i am guessing either upper sec or JC.
then to my horror, the guy took out a brown paper bag and started fishing and eating fries out and sharing with the girl!!
OMG! eating in the train? come on man. why would anyone want to do that? signs are everywhere and being school kids, they have no reason not to know that eating is not allowed in public transport.
it is not so much of the litter, but the smell of fries in an air-con train can get quite sick after a while.
personally i feel, drinking water from a water bottle is fine, as long u don't litter, but eating is a strict no no. not everybody likes what u are eating.

I don't know if the SMRT lines have a crew to patrol but i know SBS line does. If not, they should have one.

Sometimes I take out water to drink the announcement automatic tell me not to drink or eat.

eating mentos, m&ms and other mints isn't a big deal right?

Fries, curry puffs etc got strong smell.. Food like bread, cake etc the smell not that strong, still can accept.

I don't care what you eat on the mrt, as long as your char kway teow don't take up one vacant seat of its own. Last time I checked, char kway teow no need to pay fare.

No eating rules should not exist in the first place.
If SMRT came up with such rules, they better make sure the penalty is carried out, which sadly, did not. I get to see people eating in the train every week. I have NOTHING against eating, and am fine with it. But i can't take it wi]hen they dropped their whole can of coke and the who carriage ended up sticky!!!

No eating rules should not exist in the first place.
If SMRT came up with such rules, they better make sure the penalty is carried out, which sadly, did not. I get to see people eating in the train every week. I have NOTHING against eating, and am fine with it. But i can't take it when they dropped their whole can of coke and the entire carriage ended up sticky!!! -

I'm alright with people eating, provided they don't dirty the train.
