well, it is the odour that is the main prob. u know some food smell pretty bad when u are not eating it.Originally posted by R3SsH|n:wow...didn't expect so much negative reactions...i mean...its for the convenience sake mahz...its similar to eating your bread on the bus while on the way to school...
fair enough...if they spill anything...it will be a mess...then maybe they should clear it up...
yes...but similarly lets say person is suppose to take some food before medication...then whats wrong with eating bread or some burger on the train?Originally posted by saline:well, it is the odour that is the main prob. u know some food smell pretty bad when u are not eating it.
sometimes when u are not feeling alittle bit under the weather, the slightiest whiff if food in an air con enviroment, can really make u wanna puke.
wow, you're one to decide that drinking is ok, but eating is not.Originally posted by saline:hi,
just want to share what i saw this afternoon in the MRT.
i took the train from cck to jurong east. all was fine till i saw a couple who were in school uniform. i couldn't recognize what school they were from but from the way the guy looked (dressing and hairstyle), he look rather old. so i am guessing either upper sec or JC.
then to my horror, the guy took out a brown paper bag and started fishing and eating fries out and sharing with the girl!!
OMG! eating in the train? come on man. why would anyone want to do that? signs are everywhere and being school kids, they have no reason not to know that eating is not allowed in public transport.
it is not so much of the litter, but the smell of fries in an air-con train can get quite sick after a while.
personally i feel, drinking water from a water bottle is fine, as long u don't litter, but eating is a strict no no. not everybody likes what u are eating.
comments?
sigh~~
true, u need to eat something b4 taking your medication. , one should take eat outside the station. it doesn't take much time to have a sandwich followed by the medication.Originally posted by R3SsH|n:yes...but similarly lets say person is suppose to take some food before medication...then whats wrong with eating bread or some burger on the train?
the fast pace of the society sometimes don't allow you to sit down and have your meal...as much as you would like it...
i think the real solution is to be gracious and be tolerant...
not really, but thats ok, what i was trying to say is.. they eat on the mrt train is definitely not for fun.. they may be busy, or god knows why they want to eat on the mrt. whatever it is, we cant do anything about it. the most we can do is to report the person to the control station.Originally posted by saline:true, u need to eat something b4 taking your medication. , one should take eat outside the station. it doesn't take much time to have a sandwich followed by the medication.
we live in a fast and competitive paced society, we need to be gracious but ourselves need to be tactful of others.
and with regards to coffeeandtea's question on why people would eat in the trains, i can only speculate that it might be due to laziness (lazy to alight and eat outside the station), extreme hunger (but could eat b4 entering the station), low blood sugar level i.e medical probs, too busy that the only time the person can eat is while commuting. is that what u were asking me?
yep!!Originally posted by Gordonator:please do not eat or bring in food into the train if the food has strong fragrant smell that will make everyone in the train hungry.
dirtying the place is 1 thing, making everyone stare at your food mouth watering is another thing.![]()
