Former RGS student Joan Chan battling the final stages of tongue cancer moved her alma mater so much, it raised $130,000 for her medical treatment.
Her condition has worsened and she has to "prepare for the worst"
The cancer was in Stage 4 , one stage away from terminal cancer...

i heard from someone in RGS that she is actually going to die in a months time

she managed to get a course in NUS but forced back to back out due to her conditions. And also, she tried a new medicine called IRESSA, and she is 21-year old.

There will be a special Mass for Joan Chan Shufang this Saturday, 29 April 2006, at 9am, at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea (her parish church). It will be held in the AV room on the 4th floor, and should last about 1 hour.
We will be praying for the wellbeing, peace of and strength for Joan and her family through this difficult time. So please come down punctually if you wish to offer a prayer for Joan. It is okay if you're not Catholic.
The Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea is located at 10 Yishun Street 22 (S)768579, between apartment blocks 265, 274, 275 and 276. The nearest MRT station is NS13 YISHUN. Take TIBS 800/804 from Yishun Bus interchange which is next to the MRT and Northpoint. Buses to Yishun Ring Road, on the road of the side of the Library: TIBS 520, TIBS 800, TIBS 804, TIBS NR1 Buses to Yishun Ring Road, on the opposite side of the road to the Library: SBS 162M, TIBS 520, TIBS 800, TIBS 804, TIBS NR1. Get off at the stop next to the Yishun Community Library/Sembawang Town Council (Yishun Branch), the church is behind the library. There is a small carpark in the Church compound, but you can also park your car at the HDB carparks in the vicinity of the Church.
There will also be a collection during the Mass, and the funds collected will go towards the Trust that will be set up in Joan's name. -

from yishun int, take bus 800 for 4 stops or 804 for 2 stops. alight at the neighbourhood centre at blk 291, head into the market side, walk behind blk 292 or blk 293, cross the road to reach there.
520 have been withdrawn years ago. 162M only plies on the eves of festive days. NR1 only plies from 11.30pm to 5am.

yup. paiseh man. cuz i copied it directly from a blog set up by her frens. ppl, pls donate and help her, if not, her family. it isn't easy to support her condition cuz i know joan personally. even though i don't know how much her family will get from the trust fund, it's better than nth at all.

My friend knows her quite well, we're in the same Faculty.
it's very sad when you're in your prime and something like this strikes you.
