Hi ppl, I think she's just generalising... while you people are referring to specific elite few... She' referring to the general JC cohort vs the general Poly cohort, while you guys tend to focus on the elite few in polys who can excel...
It is true that some poly students can get better jobs than uni students, but once again we are referring to "some"... but generally, tht's not the case....
So actually both views are right... just dont take it too personally

If "pass at JC level but fail at uni. level" compared to "pass at poly level but fail at uni. level", which one is better? -

With regards to the rumour that poly students are more ready for work, I feel that it's true but poly graduates and uni graduates have different roles to play in the society.... we need hands-on people, but we need the theory people behind them too....
For those who have been through army, you should understand this well... The officers dont know much about hands-on... all they know is talk and talk, while the specialists and the men do the work... but without the brains behind, it would not work out...
So i wouldnt say that JC students will become elites next time, but rather they will play a different role as compared to poly students... and the society is such that the brains and theory ppl will be ranked higher up on the corporate ladder... this is a society norm which no one can argue lah so let's just face it.... -

And with regards to your example, once again it's just a minority case...
My point is not to say that she is correct, but just to stress that she has got a different viewpoint from you guys... she's generalising while you guys tend to pick out the elite few to compare.... All are correct... Everyone is free to make his or her own viewpoints... -
