I think everyone deserves the right to express themselves, irregardless of the nature or content of their works. At the same time, society has to have the maturity to accept these works, as so, it is also the prerogative of society to criticize and the individual to accept the criticism and rebutt. Brown's novel, rather it's popularity, stems from the closed guarded infalliable doctrines preached exclusively by the churches. His works subvert these long standing teachings of Christ and the church's infallibility. I think churches, especially the more conservative ones, have to open themselves up not just to debate, but to information. Don't just go, ooh, it's blasphemy! because the bible says so.. It's the 21st century for crying out loud, it takes a lot more than 2000 year old rhetoric to prove ur pt, but rather to offer an alternative - a perfect example is the Passion of Christ. Let people see it, debate it, you might not have a very conceivable conclusion, but at least in an unbelieveing generation, you measure what you stand for with what the other chap is saying.

actually not looking forward to it. movie takes on novels rarely live up to the story. somehow a novel is always better read. -

its like....take WWII for exemple....there are many fictional books bout it...all based on real historical battles and stuff...putting it this way....its as upsurp as saying that germany won WWII...its like real organizations and real stories real battles real stuff....and u make a fictional story of it....
my view and my churches view does not dissuade watching it...in fact...Watch it so u can answe others who question you bout it....and if u gonna watch it...do it in a way that does not enrich dan brown coffers....
