need advice on a job offer

  Hi,
  I'm an IT engineer with 3 yrs exp in application support for financial institutions. I've got an offer from a bank in singapore. I'd be grateful if some members could guide me in the kinda salaries offered for my kind of profile. I'm currently being offered 4k p.m.I would like to know if that is par for the course or should i negotiate for a higher package.

  4 k is ok for engineer wid 3 yrs working experience...dont be choosy lah...just grab it....u r lucky the job is not offered to foreign talents...or r u???

  Imho, its quite a decent offer. Grab it while its there , jobs with that kind of pay are hard to get in Singapore nowadays

  4k for engineer with 3yrs experience is ok? I would say it's great! Grabbed it.

  Yes u r right, i am a foreigner jus planning to come to singapore. hence i don't have much of an idea about the salaries or cost of living in singapore. From the research i did, i found out that the rent for a decent flat would be about $1000. So i'm hoping the remaining would be enuff for personal expenses and a decent monthly savings.

  Yes. With 4k, I dont think you can stay in condo's or private aparments lke most expats does. But yes. with 4k you can stay in singapore decently. You need to set aside abt 2k for expenditure. Your transport, utilities bills, handphones, yada yada yada.
  
  4k is a lot to local standard. But remind yourself, this is not permanent. You still have to go back to your homeland. Can you save enough with 4k?
