There's a small sport shop at Beauty World Plaza , whom i had been getting my badminton raquet re-string since 1986 ? Since sec two when i am still studying at Toh Tuck Sec Sch , now no more .
Now i'm 37 , 20 years liao , Uncle Kemin still going strong in his business .
Old fashion ? Not really , we just like the ..... how to call it ? Old kampong style of business , genuine business approach , not just making money type , know what i mean ? -
I like the old-fashioned air of the place, same as Holland Village Shopping Center..
Damn those Capitaland malls, one plaza is the same as the other..

Missed the old days of Gala Theatre... renamed as GALAXY Theatre few years later and it shows Tamil films.

Thought at bukit timah shopping centre there is a cafe at the dance studio 'attitude' the cakes serve looks yummy!!~ -

Hi, was reading all the posts here and I've gotta agree that the shops in the places mentioned need some form of revamp to stay competitive.
BT Plaza is quite ok...the NTUC there is rather well stocked for the ang mohs staying nearby and also have a 4D outlet. Other than that, there is a pub there which got into some trouble with the law recently...
BT shopping centre and Beauty World are the more dead ones but if the guys like a good old fashion hair cut by indian barber (with neck twisting), then its still there. Also got some cheap buys from the top floor of BTSC.
Future MRT station should be nearer to BT Plaza...in fact one station is now being built further down the road...should be up I think in 5 or 6 yrs time.
Waffle Town is now at Balmoral Plaza but its not as good now as when they were at BT Plaza though the claypot chicken and 'or bee bay with ice cream' at Wishbone is still ok. -
