since you said they nv secured their network , then if you see a house nv lock, are you going into the house without the owner permissons? be ethnical abit can? put urself in their shoes. -

Singapore, 30 May 2006 – StarHub, Singapore's integrated info-communications provider, today announced that from 1 July 2006, all customers on its MaxOnline 2000 subscription plan or pay-as-you-surf MaxOnline FlexiSurf 2000 service will be able to connect to the Internet at faster download speeds of up to 4000 Kbps.
As with previous upgrades in bandwidth, this upgrade will come at no additional charges. Post-paid customers will continue to pay a monthly subscription of S$56 (S$58.80 with GST) while the pre-paid service will still be available at a daily rate of S$2.50 for a minimum of three consecutive days of Net usage.
In addition, to reflect the enhanced download speed that these services offer, MaxOnline 2000 and MaxOnline FlexiSurf 2000 will be renamed MaxOnline 4000 and MaxOnline FlexiSurf 4000.
Said Mr Thomas Ee, Senior Vice President of IP Services, StarHub: "As always, StarHub will continue to seek ways to proactively add value on our products and services, so as to serve our customers better. For example, we provide free Digital Voice subscription to all post-paid MaxOnline subscribers, allowing them to save at least S$10 on their residential fixed-line bill monthly. Similarly, we believe many MaxOnline users will be delighted with this upgrade. With this and more, we give customers more reasons to choose StarHub as their preferred service provider."
To benefit from StarHub's upcoming value offering, the MaxOnline customer simply need to reset his cable modem by turning the electrical power source off and on again from the effective date to enjoy the enhanced online experience instantly.
StarHubÂ’s MaxOnline range of access plans allows subscribers to enjoy always-on, unlimited broadband access to the Internet at high download speeds of up to 4000 Kbps, 6500 Kbps and 30000 Kbps. As at 31 March 2006, there are 289,000 subscribers on StarHub's MaxOnline.

Singnet: More for gaming, file-sharing on msn, irc etc. (File sharing meaning uploading)
Starhub: More for torrents, purely downloading, surfing illegal/pornographic websites.
Truth to tell, both are terrible. -

I have lots of problems with starhub when i first sign up with Starhub. I was noob and not sure of the installations and etc. I called their customer service and that kind soul talked to me for 2 hours to fix my problem. Throughout the whole conversation he was not at all pissed and tell me everything nicely. Not sure if Singnet provide this kind of service.
Anyway, its been 4 years since i have any problems with Starhub
Used to use SingNet 512MBPS and always got DC as and when. I only got DC from SH twice, once was when the network disruption during upgrading and another was when I've forgotten to pay.
My 2years contract is already ending in July and I can say, I'm a happy customer with Starhub. In fact, recommended and influenced 3 friend to actually switch from SingNet to Starhub. -

I rarely get cut off with starhub, but its slow..
Now i donno why also, for eg, 3 years ago, i download gunbound only take awhile, nowadays, take damn long la. -
Blah, every darn crap from singnet is controlled that you go on higher bandwidth, you wont be faster unless you're going to selected legitimate sites.
As for starhub, blah, blame your residential area, blame everyone else and blame the slow upload speed for every connection problem u get. -

i have plenty of problems with singnet adsl...which they cant fixed..they blame it on my phone cable..so i switched to starhub........not perfect but at least i dont face lotsa disconnection
