Trendy refers to what people like, given the current period, not what the organisation likes.
The Zoo being a touristy place, would do well designing a logo that appeals to people.
Therefore, designing an appealling logo, is the trend!

they never learnt... you NEVER mess with an icon... you spend years building something which is recognisable and becomes your own, and then you throw it away?
there's one thing in brand-building you can never replace.. the recognition that is caused by time...
alas, our zoo seems to have thrown it away...
probably some con-man-sultant got to them... -

Microsoft paint can do that. I was thinking they use Paint software... Use the brush option and write the letters using the mouse. -

What's wrong with the old logo? Don't they know that something old, familiar and recognisable is a good thing in itself? Didn't they learn anything from the REALLY expensive Marina Bay saga - spending $400K just to find out that something old and familiar can be just as good?
How many peanuts did it cost them this time? $30K? $50K?
They threw away such a beautiful icon all for the sake of being 'hip'. -
