Teen fads - what's with the stupid typing lingo?

I think that pidgin english typing thing is sort of a phase for us teenagers. I've grown out of it already. They choose not to grow out of it, they bear the consequences, like failing their english papers.
Thinking back, think it was kinda lame and silly that I actually typed "lYked tHaT." -
Luckily I never typed like that. But now i do bEc0sH eI lUb mAi lArLiNg xXxIsHx sHooOOoooOOooo cUtE dE w0rXxXxx!!!

my friend use thier msn emoticon with word seem like keeping the conversation in suspense, everytime talk to certain people must read slowly, longest i take about 20min to crack one stupid sentence

I can type both perfect english and 1337 sp34k and I am comfortable with both of them.
The ones whose english are to be feared in my experiences are policemen. One came to my school to give a talk on crime prevention. Here's an excerpt. "Outrage of Modesty is the short form for OM." Another excerpt from a NPCC area camp. "You must try your bestest effort in speaking england only in this camp." -
