One is gold and the other is dirt.
Based on the price and value.Originally posted by Glen999:so, based on what critieria you say one is gold one is dirt?
for user, i think watch is to get accurate time.... both can do it!!! and both got brands...
so, high price is gold and low price is dirt lah..Originally posted by philia:Based on the price and value.
It's an analogy not a logic.Originally posted by Glen999:so, high price is gold and low price is dirt lah..

I didn't say I was the one wearing the G-Shocks. This was what served me throughtout my service while the G-Shocks were dying:
I've had it for 19 years and it's still functioning perfectly, which is more than I can say for my platoon mates' Casios. The marks you see on the crystal are mostly from my activities in BMT and BCT, and I've refused to have the crystal changed since each scratch has a story behind it. [b]

Actually I think different watches are built for different functions and conditions. Watches like Cartier would not be appropriate for mountain climbing and etc. That being the point, a person's personality and life play a major role in the kind of watches they wear.
Correct me if I'm wrong here but I haven't seen a Tourbillon Rolex.

Well, Glen, by the WIS way of thinging, you wear a Q&Q to make sure you're on time, but you wear a Patek because you don't have to be on time.Originally posted by Glen999:for user, i think watch is to get accurate time.... both can do it!!! and both got brands...
I have a Rolex-reworked Valjoux 7750 that would beg to differ with that opinion, my friend!Originally posted by one-niner:Packed with a Lemania 5100 movement and central second chornograph hand. No chornograph beats that !
Though i have my PAM 177 on ly wrist when i wear french cuff shirts to the office

Yeah, like I said, I put it into well-earned retirement in 2004 when I got my SD. It's sitting in my watch winder right now keeping at between +1 and +2. Hell, my Tudor's been running at +10 since I bought it and I've got to send it for regulation.Originally posted by one-niner:Hey Ged !
never seen you show me this lovely Seiko till on the forum ! Nice beater watch.Seikos are always gd beater watch. They just don't fail =)
Sorry to say, Al, but if they're advertising a watch with a caseback held in by screws as a "screwdown caseback", it's false advertising and not a great confidence builder in their build quality. I'm surprised that neither Rolex nor Brietling have sued them for using "Explorer" and "Avenger" respectively as model names.Originally posted by alexkusu:anyone heard of this brand? no? must be an underdog
Oris Artelier with high mech see-through skeleton you mean?Originally posted by Gedanken:Sorry to say, Al, but if they're advertising a watch with a caseback held in by screws as a "screwdown caseback", it's false advertising and not a great confidence builder in their build quality. For that pricepoint, I'd rather get an Oris. With Oris, you at least get a synthetic sapphire crystal. SUG have not even specified their crystal material, which mean that you'll only get Hardlex, and only if you're lucky. Bottom line is that you're paying for advertising rather than quality.
Artelier is only one of Oris' lines, but it's a rather pleasing design.Originally posted by MrFugue:Oris Artelier with high mech see-through skeleton you mean?![]()

You can never go wrong with a Breitling ChronometreOriginally posted by alexkusu:oh, i see. Osiris.
speaking of seiko, i have and still using a seiko chronograph around two years and a half now, but the stopwatch hand has screwed up (does not reset back to 12), and even after fixing, will screw up after a few months.
Now thinking of getting a much more reliable one when I get back. Any recommendations? Tag Heur? Osiris?

Anyway,i think this is one of their better looking designsOriginally posted by Gedanken:Artelier is only one of Oris' lines, but it's a rather pleasing design.

Is your Seiko the quartz chronograph model? If it is, you may be able to recalibrate the hands and reset them to zero by yourself. before moving over to Rolex, Seiko was my favourite brand.Originally posted by alexkusu:oh, i see. Osiris.
