ALL roller coasters are very short in duration. But the excitement & thrill are really worth the price paid to ride one. If it's fun,people will ride it again and again,during holidays..weekends. It'll keep on making money. It will make for a unique & beautiful landmark in City Hall or Escape or in Sentosa.
Imagine this -
One uniquely designed version somewhere around the Esplanade.
One medium sized roller coaster at Escape Theme Park.
One grand one at Sentosa to compete with the rest of the world.
eg. "The longest roller-coaster ride in the world"
Every country employs 'Roller Coaster Designers' to create a unique one. So I think our version could be named the 'Singapore Swish'? or 'Swish' hehehe
Then Singapore will be on the list of countries that owns roller coasters!

The flume ride - ALL it does is go up,come down >>> SPLASH!
One word - Boring.
I want to fly up,down,sideways...and feel the wind...and see the sky...hear people scream here & there...and appreciate the roaring sounds of the coaster! It's also a treat just to watch people ride it and see the amazing physics at work. -

For your information, the revenue made from the roller coaster doesn't break even for most theme parks around the world. Raw investment of getting a second-handed roller coaster in the current rides market is already at least US$2M, not forgetting the basic infrastructure of laying foundation, piling works, electrical and mechanical works which will roughly add up to US$750k. i think it wont work. stuff like these will only be ridden once, or twice if the person really likes it. after a while when a lot of singaporeans have rode it no one will ride it anymore except tourists... and that isnt enough. i expect the same thing to happen to the ferris wheel they are gonna build (got right?...) and then i think roller coasters quite ex

singapore have a lot of ideas, but 1 thing that we lack, natural resources and land, with all this singapore will sure be like some tourist hotspots..haha

Sentosa will have a new theme park which will be completed in 2009.
I hope there would be some great rides and a ROLLER COASTER!
