bring tour groups to Europe.Originally posted by choco B:What's he working as ?
1st case, is the 1st guy, cos what i wan is a guy who can swim.Originally posted by DailyFreeGames.com:Maybe it's somewhat unfair to equate education/experience with a topic as simplistic as swimming. If youÂ’re asked to choose a swimming safety guard, and 2 guys come in, whom will you choose?
First guy: Have experience in swimming, swim once a week at least for the last 5 years but donÂ’t really know much on the factual things about swimming.
Second guy: Read all the books about swimming, all the history about it, and the names of the best swimmers in the world, but unfortunately never swim before.
Second case, whom do you think will be a better successor to take over your business?
First guy: Have managed and lead 10 different companies from MNCs to GLCs before, but was previously a drop out because no interest in schooling.
Second guy: Has a Ph.D. in business studies, but has never manage or lead a business before.
IÂ’m posing these questions because I believe paper qualifications are overrated.

NATO is very prevalent in public sector. Tat is why ITE graduates seldom have a chance to shine cuz education qualification is held like the sacred wand of power to ensure you have the first and foremost criteria to join and rise up their league of powerOriginally posted by tortoise55:1st case, is the 1st guy, cos what i wan is a guy who can swim.
2nd case, is the 1st guy, cos what i wan is a guy who can manage things.
on both cases, the 2nd guy will be NATO
Agree totally. But if you are a scholar u are so much better off in the public sector cuz basically your career path are planned for you and unless you break law and drop into police case, you are virtually guaranteed an almost life-time of job stability and MONEY!!!!Originally posted by choco B:Too much emphasis has been put on paper qualifications and using it to measure a worker's competence & success.
The fact is in this day and age of job insecurity, outsourcing and intense cost cutting, and when the job market is saturated with similarly paper-qualified people, having a skill and being able to live off it is very useful and may provide a more stable career in the long-term.
y go listen to the rumours.. aiyooo...Originally posted by kailun:I was in ITE taking up Certificate in Office Skills(COS) and suppose to continue my studies for Certificate in Business Studies(CBS) but due to the rumors of ITE has no future, I decided just to complete my COS and get a diploma in private school. Connected with the forums, do you mind how others think of you as I do mind during my school days and that's the result of my current state.
True facts: My friend who got a CBS cert only, her salary is higher than me right now.
I learnt a lesson, do not take the rumors and choose what is right for you.
About myself,
ITE grads, got a diploma 2 years ago. Tentatively planning for a degree.

Every discipline also can branch out but it depend if you are capable to excel in the new discipline well. Of cuz for some discipline you need qualification but at least for IT there is no professional body to get certified so if you tink you can do programming, you are very much welcomedOriginally posted by The man who was death:electronics engineering now can branch out to programming, issit true?
