this is so GREAT!!! people recooperating from cancer or any other illnessness can roam the hawker centre with ease again! and they dun have to take in air tt's damaging to their lungs.

too little rules will invoke chaos.
the reason why we have so many rules here is because many here dunno how to think for others. lacking in courtesy, consideration and common sense. -

And there is no law against blowing smoke into non-smoking area.
So watch out for wind direction at kopi tiams and hawker centres. -
It's good that they ban smoking in coffeshops and hawker centers.
I used to smoke, I was a smoker. But back then, when I need to smoke after a meal in a coffeeshop, I will look around me first. And if the next table are people eating - especially children and family, I'll get up go outside and puff. Most idiots will just light up like they're bluddy at home!
Now that I don't smoke, these people are still smoking next to others who are still eating. You know how irritating it is, to be eating your favorite dish and ciggy smoke drifts pass your face??
Now, this smoking ban, like with all other kinds of bans in Singapore, are the direct cause of all these selfish and inconsiderate people's actions. If you selfish inconsoderate people don't annoy or inconvenienced others around you, you will probably still be able to smoke in most public places. Now, your space in public has been shrunken.
Good! Keep it up! Keep being inconsiderate and see what more will happen! -

Why so troublesome?
Just raise price of cigarettes to S$50 per pack can liaoz. The financial drain will force smokers to quit smoking.

i am not in singapore, can someone tell me more about this ban, like what are the areas covered?
So now even kopi tiam cannot smoke?Then where all the uncles sit?
how about places like KTV?
how about when i am walking along the streets?
How about inside the compound of a condo, it's not reallly "public" cos not everyone can go in, but the neighbours have no choice but to be affected by me smoking.
