Actually, why don't they just ban ciggarettes altogether??
I mean, they can bow down to the fact that Casinos are profittable as it brings in the tourist bucks, and so they allow casinos here but only tourists are allowed to patronize it. As such, they can very well ban ciggies and allow only tourists to smoke in the casinos! Afterall, they don't care about or mind us being pushed over by foreign talents working here, why bother being tactful about smoking???

They can only show that they are making the effort but cannot enforce a toatl ban......many tourist are Japanese & mainland chinese, where smoking is considered a norm. You don't want tourists level to fall rite.......be smart. -
Government should not ban cigarettes because there are still many people who smoke and enjoy cigarettes. Government policy should cater to all Singaporeans, not just the non-smokers. Well, if the government can ban chewing gum overnight, they ought to be able to do the same to smoking... Anyone knows if there is a hotline for us to report coffee shops who do not comply/ enforce this ban? Two nights ago I saw someone puffing away in a non-smoking zone in a open air coffee shop in Pasir Ris. -

Well, let me see what can i say about this.
From what i think, the reason why smoking is not totally banned in sg is because the govt is really earning a lot from it! Why ban something when it is generating you profits right? Instead, they keep on rising the prices of cigarettes, making people think that this is one of the ways to make smokers kick the habit. Please lah, if people wants to smoke, you think the price will prevent them from buying?
As a former smoker, i got to say something for the "ethical" smokers, like myself. Ha. Not all smokers are inconsiderate. I definitely don't smoke when there are many people around me. In fact, i only smoke when i'm alone and when no one is around me. I'm sure there are also others like me. So i got to stand up for them and say something. Ha. -

For those smokers who are considerate to those around them, thank you.
For those other smokers who are inconsiderate and throw their cig butts everwhere, drop their ashes everwhere and blow smoke into other people's face, they have spoilt the market for themselves.
Smokers say they are not bothering anyone else by smoking, I hope they can cultivate more considerate habits and stop spoiling the market for themselves. -
i saw a lady smoking in a coffeeshop. she was sitting just outside the smoking box. there are only 4 tables alloted for smokers.

i thought no telling her, "kio zheng hu kim la, lao tui poon buay sai sio la."
i dont understand why she got so worked up for. after all the discomfort is only 1 to 2 seconds. -
