Primary school trip to Beijing

What is your view in term of exposure, experience?

last time only got trips to zoo, bird park and science centre.

Usually the overseas portion of these trips are co-organised by a tour company engaged by the school, who will plan the itinerary, accomodation, meals, etc. in the foreign country.
I think on the whole the trips are pretty educational and interesting. Depends on what the focus is of course, if it's for a CCA or particular subject then naturally the trip would be oriented towards the subject.
As for how well organised it is, it depends on organisers... if your school administration or teachers in charge are typically quite capable and on the ball , then should be safe.
I think a big factor that affects how much a child learns from an overseas trip is how mature & eager to learn a child is LOL. Is he the type who can appreciate, even alittle bit, new experiences? Naturally children are playful, but if the child is ALL about having fun and is concerned about nothing else, then the trip is mostly wasted on him. LOL -
Primary school kids are very young... better prepare charcoal pills...
I bet you they will come in handy for sure... -

Primary school my only overseas trip was to malacca.

beijing is a very small city . nothing need to see ,

I went to Beijing with my family before, not with classmates and teachers. About 10 yrs back.
We went there during chinese new year, so we get to see snow, get to see frozen lake where ppl ice-skate on the lake suface. It was freaking cold, esp when we went up to the mountain where one of the gate of the great wall is.
The whole trip was like a history lesson...... We go to many places, and the tour guide tell us the history behind. So we walk and walk, listen to her stories. -
when i was in sec sch, there's a trip to beijing sponsored by my sch. but my parents dun wan me to go.

my pri school organised a trip to melbourne last time.. 7 days. need to pay SGD300 +/- nia..
i wasn't eligible..
