There. If you don't believe what I say, try reformatting and installing Windows. After reformatting and re-installing Windows, your connection will be blazingly fast - until you start piling on all those stuff.
All the above can be Googled for verification.
While true, it's not just user problem. ISP and web servers play a part. ISP give you a limited bandwidth, so do web servers.Originally posted by ShutterBug:You know, actually all your laggy problems are caused by other factors.

Delhi, India, a city that is behind us by a lot technologically, has a 512K broadband connection that is better than Singnet's 1500K connection, among other things.
my solution is - go to whinehouse and whine all they want.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Pressure government.
Users harder to teach, say don't anyhow click still click, in the end tio spywares and viruses that slow down the speed.

NEW DELHI: Dishnet Wireless, unveiled its brand of Wi-Fi services, Dishnet RED Broadband Wi-Fi, in Delhi on Wednesday. According to the company, Dishnet RED Broadband Wi-Fi would enable Internet users across Delhi to access Internet at superior broadband speeds at some of the most popular public locations (Dishnet Red Wi-Fi hot spots) in the city. These hotspot locations include hotels, restaurants, cafes, airports, railway stations, etc.
According to Dishnet Wireless VP VG Suri, at present there are 29 hotspots signed across Delhi of which 11 hotspots are operational. He added that the remaining hotspots would be operational in the next 35 days.
"The company is planning to initially make available the Wi-Fi broadband services in eight cities and subsequently extend this to 38 cities amounting to 6,000 hotspots across the country by the end of March 2006. The company would invest Rs 250 crore on this project," he added.
The company expects 2,00,000 Wi-Fi subscribers by the full roll out of the project and is expecting revenue of Rs 107 crore by March 2006. Wi-Fi is expected to contribute 20 percent of the company's revenue, while Enterprise services and solutions and wireless broadband is expected to contribute 50 percent and 30 percent of the revenue respectively.
Intel is extending its support to Dishnet in identifying hotspots, their bandwidth and other essentials that a wireless network requires and provide an environment to deploy Wi-Fi broadband services, throughout the country.
They are surpassing us already, the industry for IT telecomms is booming over there.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Wow. Thanks for sharing that - I thought Dehli was behind us when it comes to technology. Maybe this proves that, in some aspects, they have actually caught up with us...
From 2pm to 5pm, I have been downloading files with an incredibly slow speed. A download bandwidth speed test from pcpitstop revealed my download speed at 5kb/s!Originally posted by Kawazoe:hmm now im downloading stuff at very slow speed, is anyone experiencing it?
Errmm.. here's a thought:Originally posted by Erwin_Rommel:From 2pm to 5pm, I have been downloading files with an incredibly slow speed. A download bandwidth speed test from pcpitstop revealed my download speed at 5kb/s!
At around 5.30pm, then my speed returned to normal. I think Singnet needs to do some explanation.

I live in Sembwang and I am using Starhub MOL 6500Kbps. Its quite ok actually. Downloading using bitcomet is about 10 - 30 Kbps overall, thou there are a few time I hit 100 over Kbps(rare). Downloading a 5mb mp3 took about 3 - 5mins, not too sure as I use a downloading manager, 1 - 2 mins. Large files (maple story full installation - 400mb) took about 2hrs, using dl manager about 30 - 40mins. Playing online games or steaming movies are quite smooth overall.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Wanted to further edit my post, but since there is already another newer post, I might as well add a new reply.
Is there anyone here living in Sembawang New Town? I ask this because I live around here, and I especially want to hear from Starhub users living in this area. If there isn't, then at least the northern region (Yishun, Sembawang, or Woodlands) may do. I would like to know the quality of your internet connection.
