It may not be wrong to say the ad could be taken in a racist context.
Context of an advertisement is different in different cultures. That explains the need for different advertisements in different regions and countries at time. A sporting campaign was put up by a famous shoe brand globally during the Olympics some time ago and the message goes like its ok not to win medals cos everyone who participate is a winner. The message goes well in countries like Australia, a more 'feminine' culture where personal achievements are not seen very important over the the group. While this same message was not well received in USA becos USA is a more 'masculine' society where its not good enuff to participate, but they must win. Therefore context is different with the same message.
So the SOny will go well in places like Singapore becos we are a more 'together' society compared to places like say South Africa or even USA where the differences in race and culture is more evident and sensitive. -
but this ad not in sg wor, its ok for the ad to be in sg not becoz of togetherness but our society dun have a large population of black and whites, ours is made up of other colours

Its not necessarily true that advertising has big bucks. If you are very sought after, of cos. But most people start off as an Account Exec where the basic is low supplemented by commission. But if you hit on a big account and do well for that account, you will be headhunted and thats where the big bucks are....
Well i am not in the advertising line now cos i have decided to take another route but still i am very interested to analyse advertisements and one day i also hope to own an advertising house.... -
