All I have to say is this is a case of bad timing.
Its just damn suay that you found out about the student meal after you have ordered the food.

i been there quite a no. of times
so far i have quite good service from them
when we ask for ashtray, water and etc..they will bring for us..
the waiter also quite nice when we ask him for suggestion -

Such a BIG fuss made out of a student meal promotion.
Btw, are you sure you wanted to give 'feedback' to the manager?? Or were you intendg to complain and snap at him?? -
Actually, u could have just asked the waitress right from the start if there is any promotion. I always asked if i go to any cafe or restuarant, just as I would ask if there's any promotion for any credit card(meaning, if i use a certain credit card, can get discount)
Sometimes, all it takes is for u to open ur mouth. The cafe should not be at fault for having failed to inform u. The fact that u just sit down and continue eating the meal even though u were upset at not being informed earlier shows that u have already accepted the fact that u are not going to get the student meal. To bring up the matter again after ur meal will only make u seem in a bad light. -
i say you report to case.

It actually takes a good customer to bring out the best in the service personnel. Try being one and see the difference you get compared to thinking you DESERVE a good service because you're loaded and they're trying to earn your money, being paid pretty lowly instead

I think the management will write back to apologise and say it's an "isolated incident" and they've already reprimanded the manager.
Not much use, but I think it's a way you can highlight bad service. -
yeah i guess that cafe on same level as cinema. actually the food is nice, also got nice root beer float haha. i think the normal waiters adn waitresses there are ok just tt the manager is the culprit.

If you believe that the customers is absolutely always right, then you will not get good service. The reality is that the customer is only right if he is is worth the profit. The customer is always right.
No outlet manager has the time to sit down to talk cock sing song with every unhappy customer, especially over a one who suggests that every promotion be brought to the customer's attention. People with this keep of sh--ty attitude have obviously no idea what it is like to work in an F&B outlet. They should try one for a holiday job and get real! -

u mean it's right for any service staff to show a black face or be rude to customers just because they had a bad day, just because they are also human being? I dun think the threadstarter had done anything so offending or insulting that the manager had to show that kind of attitude and be so utterly rude. A simple communication would probably have solved the dispute. -

its weird when the manager could resolve the whole issue with a simple apology even if the feedback comes out from another ear..
maybe his wife ran away with his buddy or wad.

However, i can't imagine a restaurant manager treating a customer in such a way unless u really insulted or poured a cup of water onto him right before everyone. A tactful manager really won't react in such a rude way thinking that the customer is only looking for trouble.

Yups dat was exactly what I meant... simple communication and smiles would solve a lot of probs... trying to push all the blame to the customer makes him feel even more flustered when he was oredi unhappy in the first place.
Oh and I agree oso... the waitresses were all ok one lor...and the food was alrite too... dun want to blame them wrongly... only the manager I thot show inappropriate behavior...
I mean... really as some of u said... he could be having a bad day... just so happened dat I was the suay one to bear the brunt of it... which I thot I was abit "yuan wang"
Oh and on the Zidane matter... I think it was really a pity he'd to end his career lidat... a black spot on a glittering legacy... I really feel for him manz...

I ask have you come across a service staff giving you a black face on first impression? well i haven't. It will probably happen if you keep asking stupid questions again and again or you argue with the person am i right. No service person will give you a black face for no reason and that is a fact.
The very fact is the thread starter first started to question the waitress over this minor thing and you can imagine after a few exchangers with her, he wasn't happy with her replies cos it wasn't going his way summon the manager in the hope that he is right and the waitress was wrong but unfortunately all the manager could give him is a straight answer and he probably wasn't happy with it.
Like i said, this case is not worth bring up after so long... the thread starter can't seem to get over it... and the zizu case, well whatever happened he is still the player of the tournement am i not right? -
lucky u're not a football player, if not anyone can get u out in the first min of every single match easily. Insults are just so common on the football field and opponents will do anything to get the best player off the field, especially since it's the World Cup finals. I am not speaking up for anyone here just that in every incident, i belief there are two sides to it thats all... and since the guy is not here to defend himself, we cannot jump to conclusions base on just the thread starter's claims... Ah, and last time i check, I am very sure i am still in singapore. So i can say it again i have never come across any service staff that greeted me with a shout or a raised voice on first impression... Have you ever got a loud shout or shove by a service staff on first impression?

You just look, this case is not worth bring up after so long... yet the thread starter can't seem to get over it... Do you bring up something like this after more than 2 weeks? Normally we may if it happened today, yesterday or even over the weekend, i can understand, it something sponteneous... But to wait more than 2 weeks than put it in such a way, i call it devious, he could have an ulterior motive.
