  The reason why ppl think that there is too much shows on women either powerful but bad or powerless but good, is becos such characters stand out too much. They leave a deep impression on ppl. Whereas not much impression is given by good career women and thus they are easily forgotten, leading to the misconception. (or perhaps the dramas with such characters are not very well received by viewers)
  
  Scriptwriters want viewership, they want to leave an impression on ppl, not becos they want to stereotype.
