i find it funny that Singaporeans host dinner like a business investment.
And people who go to the weddings "rate" the type of place and give corresponding ang baos.
Luncheon/Tea at Hotels = $68.
Dinner at 3-4 star hotels = $60-80.
Dinner at 5 start hotels. = $80-100
Dinner Restaurant = $80
So from here the hosts can estimate and see how the ROI is. -

Btw for Chinese Dinner Restaurant should be = $60 can liao cuz there are charges ranging from 400+ upwards for each table. -

Downry & jewellry - $10k
Bridal & photo services - $4k
Ang baos & miscellaneous - $1k -
You're so straight forward and honest... lol. It depends on individual lah, for me if got spare cash i will have a wedding dinner, otherwise normally i live below my means, because normally people think about losing 10k-20k on weddings but it's actually more than that. Those money putting into investment funds growing at 20% annually will give you more than 500k within 20 years. So if you're thinking you're only losing 10k-20k, think again. When I got married, I had less than 20 tables. Invited only my closest relatives & friends who gave big angpows (average $100 p/person, my aunties/grandparents gave $800- $1K) so in the end I made enough to even pay for my honeymoon. -
