should teachers be allowed to punished harshly in school?

hey firepig, snoopy81 mentioned tat it was during pri sch days...so tat shld have been quite some yrs back le...i can vouch tat raising of hands above ur head is quite tiring...i was punished in tat manner once in pri 3...however, i nvr had a chance to stand inside a small circle although i can imagine how it must have been like...

Oh yah. Only during the 80s or 90s, the teachers use chalk and now they use markers. I don't think they will draw the circle on paper cos we need to be environmental friendly. Haha... perhaps they will just ask the student to stand on chair which serves the same purpose. -

Yeah it's a super cute punishments more for small kids. It's still better than standing on chair because people won't reliase that you are being punished unless they are near and able to see the circle around you. But I guess no one will really stay inside the circle throughout. -

wa...what if the student fell down while standing on the chair and break his spine and become paralysed? Who will be responsible? -
only the pretty teachers can punish harshly.

Draw circle and make the student stand inside for punishment so that people will know he/she is being punished and also to make his/her leg tired by standing still in the same spot. :D -

By the way, I have a facebook friend from South Korea who used to teach English in high school and college (equivalent to our sec sch and JC). I asked her if she punished her students to kneel down and raise both arms high up as what we see in Korean drama. She laughed and was surprised that I know about this traditional Korean school punishment. She said her school days were like this and very often the whole class was punished this way just because of a few troublemakers. They have to kneel and raise arms for the entire lesson. Despite that, she is a good teacher who only make her student stand outside classroom at most. -

My Teacher Like to Draw the circle in the playground where there many students will play in the recess. If Someone have not hand in the homework, my teachers like to punish them stand in the circle and pull their ears in the recess time.
