she shared tat she caught the student using crude words in her class...actually, there was no malice intended...when she heard him spewing the crude words in class, she was shocked n scolded him. then she found out tat actually he didnt noe wad they were. he was merely imitating the words he heard from the older students. when my frend knew tis, her anger simmered. however, she felt tat she had to discipline him so as to deter him from using them in future. hence, she ordered him to stand at a corner, face the class n slap himself until she was satisfied. unlike the teacher in my 1st post, my frend didnt insist tat he slapped himself hard...in fact, she shared tat the boy didnt slap hard at all. his 'slaps' were onli slightly harder than 'pats''. considering tat he was still a young boy, she let him get away wif 'patting'...
my frend ended off by saying tat actually her main intention was to shame the student rather than to inflict pain on him thru the punishment. tats y she allowed him to 'pat' himself. she felt tat it wasnt appropriate to inflict pain on a student of such a young age. hence she opted to shaming him in front of whole class. the punishment didnt last tat long either. my frend let him off after abt 15min...

yes its the same female teacher...she stil makes her students stand tip-toe some times but she shared tat her students r quite well-behaved on the whole nowadays...so punishments r less common...

she is juz apporaching mid-20s...but u wun be able to guess her age if u saw her...she has always been very kiddish(not childish) in terms of personality...maybe tats y she likes to interact wif young children...she doesnt tickle her students often...tat onli happened a few times when the students were very naughty n refused to stand tip-toe properly despite warnings...

i dun tink tats possible cos standing is way too common a punishment not to be used...anyway, from wad i noe, standing tip-toe is not sth one can do for a long time...the maximum duration my frend ever got any of her students to stand tip-toe was for nearly 1 period. even then, the students would complain tat their ankles felt sore..."wearing" imaginary heels is more tiring than wearing actual ones...

hmm...i wonder which is worse? standing tiptoe for abt half an hr or standing at attention for abt 1 and a half hrs? would my frend's bro be betta off back then if our tutor had made him stand tiptoe for half hr compared to making him stand at attention for abt an hr n a half???

she wun noe cos she wasnt the one who was made to stand at attention for an hr n a half...the onli way is to get the same person to try both n i certainly dun wish to be the one cos i saw how badly my frend's bro suffered from his punishment...

from wad i noe, so far no parents complain...her punishments may be tiring but they dun last long so students dun suffer badly from them...i tried to get her to join tis forum but she doesnt want to cos she is alredi very addicted to friendster/facebook...joining the forum will onli make her glued to her com all day, which she feels is a bad example for her students...
