ok Not too sure about that... but I think some of us can afford it... i think I can but the reasons for.. is the late marriage... I haven got married yet.. I guess my wife to be will only have a few years left before its too dangerous to give birth...

I mean look at it....
Gov right from Day One, encouraged everyone to study and attain high academic qualifications for decades. And now, when living costs becomes so high, locals cannot afford to accept low wages and are obviously over qualified, gov turns to FTs.
People have forked out a lifetime of money to give their children a good education, and now, jobs are given to FTs just because they can accept lower salaries and that they can do more. Now isn't there a mistake somewhere along the way since 1965???
I tell you, gov clearly only care about economy for the money they will harvest - not us. -
Cannot really blame woman,cause we locals demmand higher wages compare to foreigners so bo bian loh.
And if given a choice for me to chose,to serve 2 and a half yr of army as a guy or be a woman whom pregrant,i rather serve NS leh,cause army serve n fxxx off liao,worse come to worse is the stupid ICT ,reservist,etc.But woman once pregrant,it very hard to recover,both looks and health as before. -
Anyone encountered a situation where u want to take a train frm douby ghaut to somerset, where the train is always full and no matter how u squeeze. u just cant get onboard. And by the nxt train comes, there will b throngs of ppl waiting to squeeze again. In the end, walk to my destination rather than take the train

(1) Singapore faces the challenge of an ageing population (or so we're told). Current projections show that one in five Singaporeans will be over the age of 65 by 2030. The government therefore wants to encourage Singaporeans to have more babies.
(2) Singapore's economy lacks skilled manpower (or so we're told). The government wants to import huge numbers of foreign talents, to keep the economy going strong.

Something is very wrong with the above reasoning, and no one in the blogosphere seems to have pointed it out yet. So I guess I'll have to do the job again.
This is it - babies are not adults. Adults are not babies. Let's imagine that PM Lee's baby-making incentives had succeeded beyond his wildest dreams and Singaporeans produced 75,000 babies last year. That means we would have 75,000 one-year-old cute little chubbies in Singapore today.
But babies can't work. They don't contribute to the economy. They're not research scientists, engineers, bankers or teachers. That would take another 20 to 25 years to happen.
