Do You Get Preferential Service?

Like what you dress differently, do you get different service treatment?
Me was dressed in a T-shirt and bermudas and went to Creative shop at Plaza Singapura to shop few days back... And when me was queueing up to pay for my item, me was given different service treatment... People who were queueing up behind and dressed more presentable got served first in front of me as the cashier just simply ushered them in front of me... When the queue was cleared, she gave me those "cheapskate" look and put "Counter Closed" sign even with me standing in front getting ready to pay... Me was furious and threw the item onto the counter and walked off... While me turned away, me heard the cashier saying me "So cheapskate! Can't be bothered to serve you!"
Me quickly turned around and scolded the cashier for having biased views on me... Me meant me may looked casual in my dressing but me doesn't require those preferential treatment... She even said me don't even deserve her service... Me got so agitated that me asked for the shop manager and gave my piece of mind to the shop manager... She offered to give me 50% on the item as compensation but she didn't know the crux of the issue wasn't about whether me could afford to pay, but rather the cashier insulted my integrity... Me rejected her offer and told her she's also a moroon who's treating me as a idiot and walked out of the store...
By the way, me wrote an email to Creative to feedback my experience and still waiting for a reply from them... -

This only happens to me if I'm in a clothes or shoes shop...
Electronics shops aren't that bad, because people can't be bothered to dress properly. Unless there's an ang moh in front of you, you will be served based on first come first serve basis. -

But that's besides the point. The cashier was wrong, but u are in the wrong for scolding the manager. Frm what u say, it seems to me that the manager is trying 2 pacify u. I had read cases where the manager will side with the staff, so u are lucky that the manager was trying 2 be nice, and settle this matter in a amiable way.
The manager need not take ur abuse, especially when u scold her a moroon. You are taking out your frustration on a lady who has nothing to do with u being frustrated in the first place, and that's wrong -

Well u definitely deserved better service but it was really harsh to have called the manager a moron......

If u scold manager, den like ur fault tt u in wrong first ma.. If u nv scold manager den the fault will entirely be on the cashier.. -
You behaved like a twat as well, even granted that you were pissed off by the service staff.

you should have written down her name, the name of the store, time and place, taken her picture (or video footage) with your handphone or digital camera, all the while muttering to yourself how you're going to post it on SgForums.

I think most people in their life have been slighted by service staff before. Well, the cashier judged u based on your dressing, she's hollow. U don't have to prove her right, isn't it?
If u get so angry because someone judged u based on ur dressing....well.....u do ur analysis. The hollow cashier doesn't know u as a person.... -
Well, I can't remember being so unfortunate as to suffer such poor treatment. A couple of months ago I went to Mont Blanc at Ngee Ann City to get a wallet. Although I was dressed rather simply the salesman still treated me very politely, with no airs. So I guess your incident is just a plain unlucky one.

Its funny. What do these cashiers gain by giving preferential service? All they do is to teed teed teed the machine what. But shd give the cashier one tight slap across the face. And tell him/her I probably earn more than yoU!

That's the way for service. So many salespeople are mismatched to their jobs. Me noticed all the staff in the shop don't wear a nametag, even me had to ask the shop manager for her name and me took the initiative to identify myself to her...
