how come singaporean guys dont dress very well?

dresses are usually more ex (those that are not ex usually look crap) and less versatile than separate tops and bottoms... i wouldn't wear a dress unless there's a special occasion...

hey dun care lah what how we wear as long as we don't follow other people's style. later other ppl call us posers. Best thing it to wear what you think if more comfortable and just be yourself.

Agreed. Personally though, my vote's not for what you wear but how you carry it off. I've seen guys try and dress up to the nines but look like idiots because they're just not used to suits, and someone in a jacket, T-shirt and Levi's comes along and spoils the party.Originally posted by lovegoddes:as i said, t shirt and berms maybe boring.

This Saturday my fiancee and I have been invited to attend some rural sophisticate's engagement party, and said yokel has specified formal dress. I'm SO lookng forwarded to being surrounded by a bunch of mooks in polyester suits and novelty ties, sharing a cheap cigar between the three of them. Oh, joy. -

to the person who wonder if i dress up even if i were to just go to the neighbourhood foodcentre. i dont dress up as in plan on what to wear, but i do dress decently. (read: not wear pyjamas.) someone once told me, you never know who you meet, especially if its someone like a potential client or your boss, impression always counts, no matter what people say. -
PLUS given the weather in SG, its even more limited for us guys to dress what we wanted to dress. Long sleeves or dbl clothed... We sweat more profusely than we wanted. But eh... still see some guys and gals dressed like its 18 degree celcius out there......
I rather dress sleeveless or singlet when going for drinks or cycling or simple errands. Outings, dates, meetings warrant better wear. I tink unbuttoned shirt with vest and jeans works well. -

personally, i cant stand the hot weather. i use alot of those white t shirts that they sell in the market for old men. the 2.50 for one kind. but with good jeans and some accessories, it doesnt look that cheap.

Haha, I oso got a bit confused by the term "vest". I tink shirt (short or long sleeved) are a better wear, buttoned or unbuttoned. Add jeans or cargo pants or pants. Can get sunglasses too. Case in point. While I was a postgrad student, I was part of a professional society that held seminars every three months where students looking to enter the industry would have the chance to meet people who were already there (read potential employers). After a couple of years, the polyester gang had finally caught up, and there were just too many dark suits around. I got bored, so one day I turned up in a light gray suit with no tie, and ended up chatting with more of the big boys than my classmates. Hey, who was to know? -
