Should have a farecard with fix rate per month but can be used on all buses and trains. Sometimes bus fares can make up 5%~10% of your monthly salary and i usually have to save on short bus trips by walking since a longer ride onboard the train from one end to another can easily cost up to S$1.60 per trip or more. depending on the number of days u work per week the amount could be sizeable if yo uhave to take buses or switch in between. I think the authority should look into such farecard for working adults.

my single trip to work is about $1.80. so one day is about $3.60
considering I work 6 days a week, and going down town on Sunday which works to around $2.80.
in a 30-day month, with 4 sundays
$3.60x26 =$93.60
$2.80x4=$11.20
Total: $104.80
if its $98 every month, so I will save $104.80-$98=$6.80/month.
This plan benefits me (I rarely take MRT) -
Buy now I think get 1/2 mth more free for introduction offer
And if now buy 3 mths stamp, get $30 disc, which is $264
NTUC member buy 3 mths stamp pay $240
But again, only SBS areas would stand to benefit -

mi spend at least $12 on pubic transport each day...

But really, SBS should take a opportunity to create a independent bus service network totally independent from the MRT -
they wont do it for train rides.
the current ezlink card actually brings them a lot of money. imagine a minimum $10 pre-paid card for every commuter. thats a staggering $10 x 1 mil = $10 mil.
the amount is definitely much more than that.
